Former graffiti artist Eric “DEAL CIA” Felisbret has spent over 30 years documenting New York City graffiti. Luke “SPAR ONE” Felisbret is a graffiti artist and historian whose work has been widely exhibited. Together they launched www.at149st.com, a documentation of New York City graffiti’s culture and history. James Prigoff is coauthor of the classic Spraycan Art. He lives in Sacramento, California.

When I saw this book I was kind of hesitant since I have been on a long and somewhat unsuccessful look for a New York graffiti book, but I decided to hope for the best and order this book. Once I received the book I was not disappointed. This book is pretty complete, covering the subways from the early 70s all the way through modern graffiti. What I liked best about this book is that it didn't simply focus on bombing or piecing, it showed both styles of graffiti and explained the origins of each. If you want a good graff book then buy this book, you'll be happy that you did.
I'm from NYC and grew up with graffiti all my life. This book does an EXCELLENT job capturing the timeline, the expression, the artists, and the stages of the art. Great gift for anyone who loves graffiti and/or the history of NYC.
I bought this book as a Christmas gift, so I would not be able to review it thoroughly.I did glance through it before wrapping it and I liked the art. It looked very cool and artistic.

Great book. If you are into old skool graff from the 80s as well as just a fan of graffiti this book is great. Being from the 5 boros of NYC it was a great book to add to my collection.
Excellent photographs of a unique art form. Informative descriptions of history, culture, artists,and evolution of the art. As a fan of the Underground Comix artists of the '70's, I can understandand and appreciate this '80's derivative.
This was a gift for a friend and has very nice pictures of graffiti and is a great coffee table addition.
