This is NOT a new TACHS guide for 2018. The problems in it are the same as from a 2014 Peterson's publication I used with my older son. According to the Archdiocese of New York's website, the TACHS has changed and does not include some material in these Peterson's practice tests, such as the synonym section. Peterson's is recycling old material and branding it as new, which is a) pointless and b) unethical. Students need practice materials that reflect content on the current version of the exam, not the old version. I'll be returning this copy and looking to buy a different publication.
I purchased this book for my 8th grader in August of ‘17. She used it to review over the last few weeks of August and off & on during other school breaks. She took the HSPT in January ‘18 and scored in the top 4% nationally. (Yes, she’s a smart kid, but doesn’t always do well on standardized tests.) So I’m going to share some of the credit with this book too. Thank you!
Just what I expected. My only issue is that it contains too few HSPT tests (two) and contains 4 other tests I have no need for.

My daughter recently took her placement test and because of this book she felt confident and ready.
