About the Author
Scott Robertson is a concept designer, teacher and publisher. He graduated from the Art Center College of Design in April, 1990 with honors and a Bachelor of Science in Transportation Design. Over the last 16 years Scott has spent his time working on many diverse projects, ranging from the design of wheelchairs to bicycles and helmets. In 1995 he took a teaching position at the Art Center College of Design in Vevey, Switzerland and since then has been actively instructing tomorrow's industrial designers. Currently, Scott is program director of a new discipline at the Art Center College of Design in Pasadena with a focus on Entertainment Design. In this unique role, he is instrumental in developing and implementing the curriculum that will create the concept designers of the future. Dedicated to art and education, Scott also founded the publishing company, Design Studio Press, with 17 books currently in print.

For those craving more futuristic design books, the Robertson works are highly desirable. He's no Syd Mead or Ron Cobb, but his works are slick, and well-rendered. A note of caution however; he is a much better artist of ground vehicles than aircraft. Most of his air vehicles are obviously derived from passenger car sketches, sans wheels. If you have the funds for both of Robertson's books, great. If you can only buy one of them, buy his book on ground vehicles.
Scott Robertson is rightfully considered a master of his craft. His renderings are incredibly well conceived and this book serves to illustrate both them and his process extremely effectively. I am particularly inspired by the section of the book in which he included left-handed sketches, which themselves are quite good, that he then uses as underlays for other work.
Scott is one of the best concept artists in our generation. His books are all very informative. Very clear and informative. I have every book and always look forward to the next.
Scott Robertson is one of the best resources in concept art instruction today. He's a walking reference and better connected than half the studio execs in SoCal. His drawings show clear process, well thought out design, and design. Scott's designs are reminiscent of Detroit crossed with 22nd century meets sci Fi Fantasy Industrial Design peppered with hints of muscle cars. In short its fun.
I'm no 3d master, but when I wanted to get back into it I was looking for some inspiration. This book didn't let me down. It's filled with mind-bending stuff from really talented people.
really awesome, just not what I needed right now - wanted more "how to " stuff. This is really drawings, sketches, and finished artwork.
