This was a good book about making interesting and effective presentations, which was not exactly what I was expecting when I ordered it. I was hoping for something to help me be a better speaker in general and more able to think on my feet in situations other than giving a presentation. But it did a great job of teaching what it was actually trying to teach.
I wasn't aware the book was about public speaking, which I have no issue with. I would recommend this for those who have issues writing or speaking publicly.
I have given many copies of this to new managers, it is about the best book ever for learning the art of effective corporate management.
The Articulate Executive was exactly right when he suggested keeping the speech as conversational as possible. Toogood stated "We are always at our best when we are ourselves, speaking conversationally in everyday, ordinary language. The presentation should be limited to 18 minutes if possible. I believe tools and methods book are a great asset to any business executive looking to further their communication skills.
