My daughters and myself LOVE these books. My goal is to purchase all of them over time
My toddler is absolutely in love with the Franklin books. They are beautifully illustrated and they are the perfect length for a bedtime reading. You can stop and discuss these stories with the young kid and relate them to real life behavior and they are a great teaching tool.

I love this book! It shows a "kid" catching himself before he makes a mistake and enjoying the rewards. Yea, for positive reinforcement!!
There really are no negative consequences for Franklin who, knowing he will be late for a party, still detours for various activities with his other friends, neglecting his friends party. More ideally would be that Franklin sees the consequences of his action and misses the party, but alas, everything turns out well and you're left wondering, so what was the lesson here? Try to be on time, but if you can't, well, its no big deal either? I can't fault the artwork, which is very well done, but what I can't stand is delinquent behavior without any sort of consequence. At the very least he could have showed up to bears party to find out, "sorry, the cake's all gone."
Franklin is every young child's friend. They can instantly connect with the young turtle's sense of adventure and enjoy watching him work through familiar problems and solve them in his own way. All of them have been authored by Paulette Bourgeois and illustrated by Brenda Clark. They obviously made a wonderful team, since they have sold over 60 millions copies in over 30 languages. The stories are engaging and the pictures delightful. I love these books!!!
Besides having wonderful illustrations, Hurry Up Franklin, wonderfully illustrates a great lesson for children and adults. I am a special education teacher and I use this book to teach children not to procrastinate. Hurry Up Franklin, teaches them to do what they are supposed to do and not stop and play along the way and it comes from one of the most trusted characters in books today...Franklin.
